  • TUCS Short Courses Call
    TUCS Short Course funding application round is opened, with the deadline on Friday, 6.11.2015.

    Funding application should contain the following information:
    • course description / contents
    • components
    • amount of credits
    • times and lecture halls
    • name of the contact person for the course
    • name of the lecturer (if not the same as the contact person)
    • budget for the course (accommodation, fees etc.)

  • Gaddpriset to Johan Lilius
    We are glad to announce that Professor Johan Lilius (Abo Akademi University, leader of the TUCS Embedded Systems Laboratory and former director of TUCS) was awarded the "Gaddpriset 2015" at the Abo Akademi Research Day 23.10.2015 by Chancellor Prof. Ulrika Wolf-Knuts.

    The "Gaddpriset", named after the first professor in chemistry at Abo Akademi Pehr Adrian Gadd, is awarded within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

  • TUCS Short Course
    Embedded Computer and Electronic Systems research unit is organizing a short course on "Memory Systems" during Aug. 19th - Aug. 21st. The course will be given by Prof. Onur Mutlu from Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Updated LaTeX templates
    We have updated the LaTeX template for TUCS Technical Reports. We also now have a template specifically for PDFLaTeX.

  • DELTA Workshop
    Department of Information Technology at University of Turku is organizing a DELTA Workshop for masters and doctoral students from DELTA participating institutions, Åbo Akademi University, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and any other Nordi Country Universities.

    Registration due 3rd November.

  • CRC and CLIDP course
    On 16.-19.11 there is a course on "How to acquire and present knowledge in the 21st century", given by Prof. Janos Kollar from Semmelweis University, Institute of Behavioural Sciences (Budapest, Hungary).

    The course has 4 three-hour sessions, each from 15:00 until 18:00.

    The course will give 1 ECTS, and if a presentation is included, 2 ECTS.

  • Guest Lecture
    Professor Michael Butler (Southampton University, UK) will give a guest lecture on Friday, Nov. 13th, at 10:00 am in room Consiglia, ICT-building A, fifth floor.

  • Defence of Doctoral Thesis
    On Friday, November 13th, TUCS GP Student Petter Sandvik presents his Doctoral thesis “Formal Modelling for Digital Media Distribution" for public critisism. The opponent of M.Sc. Sandvik is Professor Michael Butler, University of Southampton, U.K. Associate Professor Luigia Petre will act as a custos at this public defence.

  • Defence of Doctoral Thesis
    On Friday, November 6th, TUCS GP Student Sepinoud Azimi presents her Doctoral thesis “Computational Models for and from Biology: Simple Gene Assembly and Reaction Systems" for public critisism. The opponent of M.Sc. Azimi is Professor Natasa Jonoska, University of South Florida, USA. Professor Ion Petre will act as a custos at this public defence.
