Organisation: UTU / Dept. of Future Technologies

Credit Points: 5

Responsible Person: Pasi Liljeberg

Course code: DTEK8048

Learning outcomes:
To understand the basics of FPGA based prototyping and the functionality of FPGA devices as well as using the related tools. Coding for FPGAs, including implementation of logic, processor cores and software for the processor(s).

Structure and operation of FPGA devices, using them for prototyping and implementation of digital systems, using embedded processors in FPGAs (both hardcore and softcore) and related tool chains. Examples, exercises and project work will provide hands on experience. Basic knowledge of VHDL is mandatory.
