Learning outcomes:
The technological goal of the course is that students understand the implementation architectures and other relevant engineering fundamentals for performing DSP in networked embedded systems. The students are able to make correct and system level analysis based design choices when designing systems and applications for signal processing. They are also able to apply the principles in order to implement, design and optimize signal processing algorithms in parallel distributed systems including multimedia signal processing and collaborative signal processing in sensor networks.

Topics covered in the course include implementation architectures and engineering fundamentals of signal processing, system level analyses, systems scalability, optimization and self-awareness/context-awareness issues in networked embedded systems. As an application case study multimedia signal processing, and collaborative DSP in sensor networks are also discussed.
